RigDesk

Hotfixes

Between versions, fixes ship as hotfixes — hotfix1, hotfix2, hotfix3 — on top of the version you have. Every RigDesk version has its card below, and every label on it is one hotfix and what it changed. The newest is at the top.

RigDesk 0.91

11 October 2026 · build 155 current

  • LiveAngle — turn any photo into a 3D wallpaper that moves when you tilt the phone; on cars, the light slides over the paint and the glass
  • RigScreen+ — play your PC's games on the phone over home Wi-Fi, and show the phone's screen on the PC (free program for Windows)
  • RigGames with SHOCKPOINT — a game made for RigDesk, right in the app drawer
  • RedFrame adds frames on top of Windows games too — 2X and 3X, with less lag and no torn lines
  • Files works like Windows Explorer — back, forward, a path you can click, sortable columns and a search that answers while you type
  • Touch controls for Windows games — arrow keys and WASD on the game bar, three fingers for the game bar itself
  • Faster Windows programs — the translator now loads its per-program profiles
  • Deleted desktop icons stay deleted after a restart

No hotfixes yet — when one ships, it appears here first.

RigDesk 0.90

25 September 2026 · build 118

  • RigDesk Office — RigWrite, RigSheets and RigSlides open, edit and save .docx, .xlsx, .csv and .pptx, in one folder in the nine-dot menu
  • Steam no longer freezes on its own — part of the Windows layer we had trimmed away was locking every program at start
  • RigDesk stays open — it no longer closes itself when a window is hidden or resized
  • Low memory hits the program, not the desktop — the heaviest Windows process closes first and RigDesk stays
  • Steam uses far less memory — each process no longer carries its own copy of the translated code
  • Vulkan games get their picture — frames drawn into a sub-window now reach the screen
  • One bad request no longer kills a program — the X server used to drop the whole connection
  • Crash reports say where — which library and which thread, right at the next start

RigDesk 0.81

19 September 2026 · build 88

  • Menus are menus again — a dropdown in Steam no longer opens as its own window with its own tab
  • Window sizes in the task manager — see what the tab asked for, what the program took, and how much it draws

  4. hotfix25

    • Steam uses far less memory — each process no longer carries its own copy of the translated code
  5. hotfix24

    23 September 2026 · build 113

    • The memory guard picks the right process to close and leaves Steam's own page alone
    • The translator labels its memory, so it can be told apart from the program's
  6. hotfix23

    23 September 2026 · build 112

    • Resizing a Windows program no longer crashes RigDesk
  7. hotfix22

    23 September 2026 · build 111

    • Crash reports name the thread that crashed, and the last crash is still shown after an update
    • A second Steam no longer starts on top of the first
  8. hotfix21

    23 September 2026 · build 110

    • Low memory hits the program, not the desktop — the heaviest Windows process closes first and RigDesk stays
  9. hotfix20

    23 September 2026 · build 109

    • RigDesk no longer closes itself when a window is hidden — it waits for the drawing to finish before letting the screen go
  10. hotfix16

    22 September 2026 · build 105

    • The window list marks a program's menus as menus
    • The log shows the exceptions a Windows program raises
  11. hotfix15

    22 September 2026 · build 103

    • The log names every program Windows starts, and which process each line comes from
  12. hotfix13

    build 101

    • One bad request no longer kills a program — the X server answers with an error and keeps the connection open
  13. hotfix11

    21 September 2026 · build 99

    • A big window no longer crashes RigDesk when a program reads its picture back
    • When something freezes, the log says whether RigDesk or the program stopped
  14. hotfix10

    20 September 2026 · build 98

    • The log gets a Crashes level, and marks a click that reached a program which did not answer
  15. hotfix8

    20 September 2026 · build 96

    • Two fingers scroll inside Windows programs — without a mouse, everything below Steam's first screen was out of reach
  16. hotfix7

    20 September 2026 · build 95

    • Moving a tab no longer freezes Steam while it loads

RigDesk 0.80

19 September 2026 · build 87

  • RedFrame 2x and 3x — pick how many frames to add instead of one unnamed setting
  • Sharper made-up frames — the picture is blended four ways, so moving things lose their halo
  • Three fingers, two taps — turns RedFrame on and off mid-game without opening anything
  • 120 Hz is finally reachable — RigDesk was reading the screen's rate once, before the phone switched
  • A self-test you can trust — the built-in check now uses game-like texture instead of pure noise

RigDesk 0.79

19 September 2026 · build 86

  • Steam fills its tab for real — the window used to freeze half-resized and leave black around the picture
  • Windows sees your real screen — a 2400-wide phone was telling programs it was 1920, so they stopped short
  • Wallpaper stays put — it used to go black the moment Steam started and never came back
  • Zoomed instead of black — a program that refuses to resize is scaled up to fill the tab
  • Quieter program log — Wine's notes are no longer written as errors, and repeats are counted instead of listed

RigDesk 0.78

19 September 2026 · build 85

  • Programs fill their whole tab — Steam no longer sits in a small box with black around it
  • Three times faster drawing — 47 ms a frame down to 15, so scrolling stops lagging
  • A tap is just a tap — hold your finger to get the menus a mouse shows on hover
  • Task manager — right-click the taskbar or press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to see what uses RAM, CPU and GPU
  • Updates happen inside RigDesk — with a progress bar, and they carry on if interrupted
  • Wine really shuts down — Steam used to keep holding gigabytes after you closed RigDesk
  • No more closing itself on launch — a photo wallpaper used to kill RigDesk a second after it opened
  • Crashes say what happened — instead of the app disappearing without a word
  • The bar over everything is gone — and three permissions went with it
  • 3D for Windows programs — a switch in Settings
  • No recording-device error — Steam printed it in the log on every single start

RigDesk 0.77

4 September 2026 · build 79

  • The update panel can be closed — it tucks into the corner instead of blocking the desktop
  • HOT FIX instead of NEW UPDATE — when the same version has been rebuilt
  • Game bar — measured frames, a frame-time curve and temperatures, over a running game
